Brook Trout

Did you know that Brook Trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) are actually not technically trout at all! Brook Trout are members of the Char family (think of the beautiful and aggressive Arctic Char). Brook Trout are recognized as some of the most beautiful and feisty freshwater fish in North America. Many Brook Trout have very vibrant color patters with scarlet red bellies and iridescent blue halos.
